Cafe Luciano - Rush St. The post-mortem report

Wow. Utterly disappointing.

First, the service. With an army of 20 year old waiters who offered nothing in the way of culinary guidance ( wine suggestions, description of specials, etc. ), Luciano delivered nothing more than plates with food on them. However, they even had trouble with this as the elapsed time between courses increased as the night went on.

The food was uninventive and bland. I had the veal chop vesuvio, listed as a signature dish, but it really had no taste to it at all. The only positive was the vesuvio which was refreshinly non-oily.

The bus boys were alarmingly absent-minded appearing to intentionally avoid eye contact with anyone.

Overall, nothing really seemed to work, which was only made worse by an prevalent "whatever" attitude.
