The Sunday brunch runs about 8.99 per person and I have gone there in a larger group and gotten seated upstairs, however, I would suggest a reservation. The brunch isn't terribly huge, but the food is well prepared, and there is plenty to choose from. I would particularly suggest the homemade soup du jour. For something really different, I would suggest LuLu's on Davis street. It is not a buffet brunch, but you do get all you can eat of dim sum, noodles and salads, brought to your table for 10.99 per person. LuLu's is the place where I take all my out of town guests, and they *love* it. You probably can get seated without a reservation, but I would strongly suggest getting one if you don't want to have to wait. Lainie

Leona's in Rogers Park used to have a nice brunch. It has been a while since I've been to it, but I doubt it has changed any significant amount. They have parking and tend to be pretty cheerful about large parties w/o reservations.

The breakfast buffet is $7.95 for all you can eat (and I take "all you can eat" as a dare... ;) )... anyway, the buffet included french toast, blueberry marscapone topping, syrup, bacon (very good bacon... I ate a ton of it!, so did the lovely Mrs. Ed)... sausage, scrambled eggs, cheese-baked eggs (looked like a souffle, the Mrs. liked them)... mashed potatoes & gravy (my wife's favorite)... biscuits & sausage gravy (with Plenty of sausage... MY favorite)... some sort of chicken (looked good), muffins, cake and fresh fruit. There was probably more, this is what I remember. The food was AWESOME, the service friendly and good, the place had lots of young couples with & without babies... the place is a bar at night. We really enjoyed the brunch and will undoubtedly be back. So much for ever losing weight... but what a way to go ;)
Bucktown:
Merlot Joe's - Eh, went there and stuff didn't look so good
River Deli - Nice, Eggs Benedicts along with usual suspects
A bit pricey.
Lincoln Park:
Stanley's - Good value for $$$ ($8). Made-to-order omelts along
with usual suspects. GREAT mashed potatoes & macaroni
& cheese.
Downtown:
House of Blue's Gospel Brunch - Haven't checked it out but
it sounds REALLY good along with great atmosphere.
