I concur with the above suggestions. Some others would be: Lou Malnati's, Giordano's, and Edwardo's.

If you must stay in the touristic mainstream, Pizzeria Uno/Due has probably the best. (They are the ones that invented the deep dish pizza -- or so they claim). Get ready to be treated like cattle. There's always an hour wait, you'll probably have to hang out outside, and they'll make you put in your order when you sign up for the waiting list so they can just plop it on your table soon after your seated (all part of the ploy to run you in and out as quickly as possible). You'll also be surrounded by virtually nothing but tourists, suburbanites, and people stuck with out of town guests. However, it's the best pizza of the "name" joints. I rate it above Gino's East. Get ready for a heart attack. Uno's pizza is grease fest '97.

For my personal favorite, you'll have to venture a bit north to Lincoln Park. At Webster and Lincoln there is a place called Bacino's that has the ultimate stuffed spinach and mushroom pizza. And you won't wait two years for a table or have to deal with the tourist masses.

The major chain places like Edwardo's and Giordanos are only a slight step above Pizza Hut, IMHO. If you must try a chain, many folks swear by Lou Malnati's, though I've never found it that great.

If you nake it to the north suburbs of Chicago (Evanston) I always liked Carmen's the best. Uno and Due are within a block of each other near N Michigan Ave. Ginos is on the other side of N Michigan (east side) and is famouis for its graffiti laden booths! These 3 are always full (with lots of tourists and locals).

If you insist on thin crust in

yuk ! boring pizza, overpriced beer, and ugly waitstaff. There are many places better than Bill's..... including Edwardos

There used to be a place at Irving and Naragansset called Tara's that had an excellent thin crust but they closed....or does anyone know where they moved to? Doesn't Home Run Inn still have one of the best thin crusts ?

For deep dish does anyone like Supperosa on Central near Montrose ?
