Hadn't been there in years. > Leah Z. wrote: > > Anyone have recommendations for good, inexpensive > > restaurants near the Hyatt Regency (151 E. Wacker) that > > are open on weekends? Best cheap eats near the Hyatt?

Very good Italian, reasonable prices (most expensive entree, a special, last time I was there was $10.95). Owner is Bobby Hitz, which only means anything if you are a boxing fan, but he's a very personable guy even if you aren't (a boxing fan, I mean). Easy walking distance from the Hyatt. It's an especially good place for lunch but I don't believe they do lunch on Saturdays. Nana's is affiliated (or used to be, at least) with the Rosebud et al but it is much, much, more casual. Of course, headed south, Heaven on Seven (Garland Bldg) is open for lunch on Saturdays. I usually head there for a fix of fried catfish if I need to be downtown on a Saturday. Prices have risen somewhat but still not what I would consider expensive. Saturday lunches there are a great way to avoid the weekday crowds.
