I had dinner for the first time at Andie's on Clark. Truly wonderful kabobs and couscous. Have others had good meals there?

Yeah, Kan Zaman is *excellent*, but those restaurants are all really good. Kan Zaman has great atmosphere as well.

My favorite is the Spinach dill rice. The location on Montrose @ Greenview is just as yummy, rarely busy and they have parking. Down the street close to Foster you'll find Cousins, which has lunch specials, and right across from Cousins try Kan Zaman which (I think) doesn't do grills as well as Reza's but has superior "cooked" dishes and wonderful cold plates of hummos, baba ganooj, tabbouleh, etc. with a few falafel for a garnish. Next door on the corner is the Olive Tree Cafe, run by the same kitchen as the Middle Eastern Bakery and Grocery, an Andersonville article of faith, just around the corner on Foster. When you're done eating, you can do your grocery shopping there: fresh spinach (and other) pies, freshly-baked pita still warm, huge Medjool dates, the best Kalamata olives and olive oil in Chicago, and a complete selection of all things Middle Eastern. Back in a northerly direction, go to Pars Grocery (just across Clark from Reza's) for a big bag of dill to mix with your rice at home, and other Persian delicacies. Clark between Foster and Berwyn is definitely the strip for Middle-Eastern food. The fastest and easiest way to search and participate in Usenet - Free!
