Being from England they all taste pretty gross to me, soggy and greasy. However on a trip to Maui I was converted. There is a little shop with outdoor seating (what else in Hawaii). No frills. Real cheap. The fish and chips are sensational. I head straight there for my first meal every time a take a surfing trip to Maui. Its in Kihei - South Shore. What a choice of fish. Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, Tuna, Squid, Pacific Prawn. Great chips. And with all things American a line up of complimentary condiments, ketchup, lemons, mayo, tartar sauce, corn bread. Can't remember the name of the shop. Hope it is still there have not been there yet this year!

We love the fried fish at Snoopy's Pier in Corpus Christi, TX but the chips/fries lack so we get fried okra. THe fried fish is mahi mahi and the fish sandwich is three big chunks about as thick as your palm and the bun is a large hamburger bun and fish sticks out all around. The fish and fires is 10 pieces of fish and easily serves two or three. You sit outside on the intercoastal waterway and watch the world go by. They have the area strung with fishing line so no problems form the gulls. Susan
