Aloha Dennis,

Here's my choices....

Best food...
Padovani Bistro & Wine Bar (One of only two Michelin Two star chefs in Hawaii) Mavro's Restaurant (The other Michelin two star chef) Roy's restaurant La Mer (Halekulani Hotel) Hoku (Kahala Mandarin Oriental Hotel)

Hawaiian ambiance...
Willows
Waioli Tea Room
Dukes (On the sand at Waikiki Beach)
Haleiwa Joe's at Haiku Gardens & Haleiwa Harbor

Local Grinds... (popular with local crowd)
Sam Choy's Breakfast. Lunch & Crab House
Rainbows Drive Inn
Zippy's Restaurant
I Love Country Cafe (Gourmet Magazine recommends this place)

Have fun and enjoy your stay in Honolulu. If you're planning trips to the neighbor islands, drop me a line and I'll pass on some good recommendations.

Aloha,
Darrell
