Any good travel book will point out the fashionable restaurants. Since I am from Germany, I always look for a "Gasthaus" with a butchershop (Metzgerei) attached. They usually serve great food. Lot of good Restaurants are also located in Breweries. should you visit Garmisch-Patenkirchen then you MUST visit the Restaurant in the "Patenkirchner Hof". Their staff is multi-lingual, the food outstanding and the winelist will surprise you.
