I ran across this cozy cafe, Another Thyme Cafe, in historic Washington, Georgia, a town missed by Sherman on his March to the Sea. There are many ante-bellum homes there. This cafe is one-of-a-kind with quite a fancy web page with full-text menus:

Also:

Harolds BBQ on McDonough Blvd Make sure to try the cornbread and brunswick stew. No beer. 404-627-9268

Fatt Matts Rib Shack, 1811 Piedmont Rd. Get the RIBS! Good live blues at night. Beer. 404-607-1622.

Daddy DZ 264 Memorial Drive (Don't park off the property or you'll be short most of your car parts. Park in their lot and you'll be OK). More good live blues at night. Beer. 404-222-0206

I have heard that Melears is REAL GOOD, but haven't had the chance to try it yet.

If you ever get to Augusta, GA, make SURE you try a place called Sconyers BBQ.
