Dunno how much you want to take Rachel Ray's $40-A-Day word for it, but Mrs. Wilkes Boarding House is supposed to be good for lunch. Folks line up to get in, seating is family-style communal, and food is also served up family style.

Mrs. Wilkes Boarding House (107 W. Jones Street, 912-232-5997) is phenomenal. A true treasure that will more than likely be mowed over for a corporate franchise or strip mall in the future. Go while you can, the best fried chicken ever. Todd
