In the desserts category: a chocolate shake and/or oreo cheesecake at Mick's (a number of locations... I usually go to the one closest GaTech) is a must...

And if Tortilla's is still alive on Ponce De Leon, grab one of their mondo-sized burritos!!

Got money to blow and want to eat seafood? Boston Sea Party!!! Great stuff... three buffet bars, a main course and a fixed price that is probably hovering around $30.

Tortillas rules. As a native Texan who used to live in Atlanta, Tortilla's was the best place in town to get a Mexican food fix.

For pizza, Fellini's is very good.

Atkin's Park has good sandwiches. So does the ST. Charles Deli.

Good place!!!!!

Also, for a fabulous but expensive meal, go to Papa Piroshki's (I know this is not spelled correctly but it's a Russian restaurant.) One of the best meals I have ever had. I went there as often as I could manage it. (NOTE: I think it's still open, but I haven't been back in about a year, so YMMV.)

You might try Indigo Costal Grill in the Va.-Highlands neighborhood. They're key lime pie is the prob. the best that I've had here in Atlanta. Most of the other food is pretty good too.

Do go do Tortillas. Best San Fran style Mexican (sounds real weird, doesn't it) in the city.

Don't know what your price range is like, but if you might try the Atlanta Fish Market for seafood.

Personally, I've thought the quality at Mick's has gone down since the original folks sold out from the Peasant Restaurants. Even so, the food is still better than what you at Ruby Benihooligans (and other such chain fern bar type places).

I've enjoyed the key lime pie at Indigo Coastal Grill. It's a fun restaurant generally -- laid back, Key West atmosphere - casual, good drinks and excellent seafood. They also have a great brunch on the weekends (try the cornmeal-blueberry pancakes, along with a mimosa, preferable on the porch at the back of the restaurant...)

Haven't been there for a while, but there used to be a wonderful restaurant called the Pleasant Peasant in downtown Atlanta. If it is still there, it was terrific!

If you're downtown, try Daily's. It's right off Peachtree st at the corner where the Westin Peachtree is (don't remember the street name. Great food and great deserts too.

Try the cheesecake factory in Buckhead. I promise you won't be dissapointed. Make reservations at least one hour in advance. Best key lime pie, north of the Keys. Prices are very reasonable. Enjoy!
