Since I don't have addresses or detailed location information committed to memory, I would request that you consult your handy Atlanta phone book.

Thai:
- Surin, in Virginia-Highland, is the standard recommendation. Good, noisy.
- Thai Chilli, on Briarcliff, is operated by a former chef at Surin, and is also quite good. Prices are very reasonable.

Mexican (there is no Tex-Mex in Atlanta...):
- Sundown Cafe, on Cheshire Bridge. Wonderful authentic, mostly Central, Mexican cuisine.
- El Taco Veloz (several locations). Gritty little taquerias with terrific tacos and burritos (more Cal-Mex than anything).

Italian (none of these is haute cuisine, but what the hell, it's where I eat):
- Arturo's, on Chamblee-Dunwoody. In yupscale suburbia, but good home Italian cooking at reasonable prices.
- Ippolito's, on Roswell Road and on Holcomb Bridge. Inconsistent menu, but excellent pizza and calzones.
