In Paris, go to Guy Savoy. The food is a tour of tour of French culinary virtuosity. Restrained, never flashy, but always an amazing blend of flavor, texture, and aroma. Likewise the presentation in the small, well-spaced, sedate room. The service will, in all likelihood, spoil you for life. It was the best meal I ever had. But beware: Dinner will probably set you back at least $150/person. Bon app, jps From X Sat Jul 16 10:05:41 EDT 1994 Article: 9498 of rec.food.restaurants

Best Gourmet Restaurants in London & Paris

Best of the best:Lucas Carton Also superb:Taillevent Not To Miss:Jules Verne on the Landing of the Eiffel Tower. The food was superb and the view of the "City of Light" from there makes it a breathtaking experience. Do not get this mixed up with a couple of other fast-food type places also on the same level. Reservations well ahead of time are a must. And the cost is way up there. I just found our receipt for dinner at Jamin (Joel Robuchon): $511 for two, with as reasonable a wine as we could find. My wife's appetizer (langoustines) was $75 (no cavier, just langoustines). She only ordered them because there were no prices on her copy of the menu. Lucas Carton was not far behind for lunch. We made the mistake of ordering a bottle of wine when we sat down before we examined the menu. They offer wines by the glass that are coordinated with each menu item and allow you to try a number of wines. Lunch at Taillevent was the bargain of the three stars for us. We did not try Tour d"Argent. Bon Apetit!! Alan Ruskis From X Thu Oct 27 20:42:57 EDT 1994 Article: 11244 of rec.food.restaurants
