I live on Siesta Key, Sarasota, FL. There are many very good restaurants in the area. Ophelia's at the south end of Siesta Key is fantastic. Their Veal Oscar is superb. The Chart House on Longboat Key is very good, too. This is part of an upscale restaurant chain... I don't know if you've ever been to one or not... Anyway, it's great... especially if you are seated before 5:30pm. This way you can eat very well for the low, low price of $14.95. Prime rib anyone? Last Sunday night I went to The Beach Bistro in Holmes Beach, Anna Maria Island. The food and the atmosphere were both nice but I thought it was maybe a little too pricey... We spent $100 after sharing an appetizer, sharing a salad, and each ordering an entree... and a total of four drinks. The best deal for your money in Sarasota is Portofino's on Gateway Avenue behind Gulf Gate Mall. Good company, good food, great prices. Anyway, Sarasota has a variety of places that are really good... HAPPY EATING!
