I liked Chez Paul on Sanibel Island. It is small, so reserve, especially
for a Saturday night. Nothing glamorous, just cozy French food with some inventiveness.

Try Bullfeathers Chicken & Ribs. The food is extremely good and the prices are the best on the island.
The Mucky Duck on Captiva is Wonderful! Make sure you get there in time to watch the sunset. Dear Kit,Esk-ie, and BBQers: Thank you very much for the replies to my post. I have ordered that very book from B&N - due to the recommends from this list. In the meantime, i will follow your guidelines...and keep trying! I must tell you...today i had fresh red oak smoked salmon...still hot from the smoker. Ambrosia! I'm in St.Pete's <Fla> and there is a very old established smoke house here called Ted Peters. they only serve smoked salmon, mullet, and mackerel. Being from the frigid north, this food is very special; in Toronto we aren't fortunate enough to have a good smoke house restaurant. <at least, i haven't found one> tonight's dinner at my house: steamed snow crab claws, jumbo shrimp on the grill<Weber, what else??>, and fresh asperagus. and the usual salad, and rice sides. ...it's actually 85F today!<will wonders never cease?> Thanks again! alexandra "still loves her Weber....esp. in Fla" zuppinger [email removed]
