It is a quality operation, run by the same folks that own Olive Garden and Red Lobster. Tropical drinks, Reggae Music, bright colors, Island spices, etc etc. Nice place, good food, reasonable prices. Along the same lines, I would also suggest a trip to Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville restuarant at City Walk at Universal. Again, a "fun" concept, and the food is actually very good in my opinion, with moderate prices. City Walk is similar to Downtown Disney, a "fun" place where you can walk arouind and feel like you are in a Disney or Universal Park, but you are not, it is just shopping and dining, and it is free. So this is a nice way to have some "cheap thrills". http://www.margaritaville.com/orlando/ You also can't go wrong at the Animal Kingdom buffet style restaurant Bama. (Forget about any ideas you have about "buffet" food, this is a near-gourmet experience. Get to the Lodge early, and you can take the whole gang out to the back of the hotel and see all the animals eating dinner - giraffes 10 feet from you !!! This is a great freebie that you should not miss. Call ahead for Preferred Seating (Disney's version of "reservations"). Any place in Orlando that is not kid friendly is not going to be around very long, so you can be pretty well assured that unless you are going way way high end gourmet, that should not be a problem.
