I've only been their once, but I recall a terrific Italian restaurant in the DWorld complex on Pleasure Island. Roasted garlic on the tables, and a superb Tuscan steak. Give it a shot. Theo

I have always enjoyed Le Coq au Vin on S. Orange very much. Not much on ambiance, but the food is always well done. Much of the wait staff speaks French, and there is always at least a sprinkling of French people in the restaurant. In my opinion, the food *not the surroundings* is the equal of many of the better NYC restaurants. YMMV. By the way, if you can make it over to Cocoa Beach, nothing can beat a casual meal on the deck, right on the ocean. The sweet potato fries are to die for. Pretty good fish, too. If that doesn't appeal, there's always the perennial favorite, Bernard's Surf. Cocoa Beach is about 45 min to 1 hr from Orlando, depending on where you are (maybe 1.25 hours from Disney.) Chuck

I was with friends and took a taxi and don't know details about where we were exactly. It is a very classy Italian restaurant with singing waiters. When the group said that's were we were going, I thought how hocky! Was I ever wrong! When I say singing waiters, I mean like actors in between gigs on Broadway and from the world of opera! It really is a dinner and a show in one. It's the first restaurant where I've actually seen escargo on the menu, and I can't remember what I had, but remember I was really impressed. We had reservations and the place was packed. Not the fastest service in the world, but when the waiter sang one of my favorite songs from Les Miserables, I forgave him for not being prompt with the coffee refills...some actually could sing and serve at the same time, as I witnessed during some chorus parts. It was a memorable evening.
