good restaurants--Sanibel and Captiva, Fla.?

The Bubble Room in Captiva is an "unusual" place and the food was excellent when I was there 2 years ago. (Not cheap)

The waiters and waitresses are dressed in boy scout uniforms and a small electric train rides the tracks around the ceiling of the restaurant. It's unusual and eclectic decor and atmosphere make for interesting dining. It actually was upscale dining in this environment.

Hi, Bruce....Tons of wonderful places to eat:  One is the mousetrap almost to the bridge to Captiva from Sanibel.  Also...you must go to the Mucky Duck on Captiva, but make reservations and go around sunset and ask for a seat by the window It is the most beautiful thing...everyone watching, waiting and cheering when the sun sets....There are several great seafood places on Sanibel, and I can't think of the names right now...one I think is Tarbel's or Taripen's? And one is McTees?  I think.....in fact everywhere we ate was great...never went to Ft. Myers to eat at all, could have been there another week and only eaten on Sanibel.

Have a great time...we went the first week of April last year and it was beautiful :)

I haven't found any that I would call great.  We have had good dinners at the SunDial resort and at Timbers.  all the books tout a place called Nutmeg -- we went there last year and were underwhelmed.  I'd be interested in other opinions -- we are there in April.  If you try and and find any good ones I'd appreciate an email when you return.

Try Bullfeathers Chicken & Ribs on Periwinkle beside Cheeburger Cheeburger.  Fantastic food and the absolute best prices on the island.
