Pebbles is an excellent local chain (which isn't the right word for it). Good wine, unusual but delicious American food. It was a real find for me. I believe if you do a search you can find their web pag which has menus on it. jenifer

My eye Dr and staff are headed for Orlando for big convention next weekend, so worked up a list of recommendations that reads like this:

Inside WDW properties, reservations can be made by calling (407) 939-3463:

Breakfast or dinner inside the Wilderness Lodge at the Whispering Canyon Cafe - good BBQ and all you can eat. Food good price too.

Dinner and Show - behind the Polynesian Resort complex attend a Polynesian Luau. Somewhere in the $35+ price range per adult

Good food but not outstanding are Coral Isle and Boatwrights (inside the Dixie Landing)

Outside WDW properties are:

An Excellent Italian Restaurant in Kississmmee, FL, just off Interstate Hwy 4 Exit 25 at to Hwy 192 (this is just north of WDW). It is about 12 - 15 miles from WDW
                             Pizza Lovers Incorporated
                             407-397-1485
                             2901 Parkway Blvd
                             Kissimmee, FL
There were three of us on this trip and we went to Pizza Lovers twice as we all felt it was excellent food, variety of Italian from Pizza, Pasta to Veal dishes (I love Veal Marsala and it was super and not expensive like in CA).

Also near Splendid China is a good fish place:

EAT at CRAB HOUSE off International Dr. and Mercado Dr. (very good food)

Hope you enjoy your trip

We were just there last week, and thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at The Flying Fish. It is on WDW property, at Disney's Boardwalk. This will go down as one of my favorite restaurants, and I'll definitely visit next time I'm in the area.

Also, we enjoyed the food at Bahama Breeze, but werent enamoured by the wait.

If you've never been to a Cracker Barrel there are two in that area.
One is close to Universal and the one is on US 192 in Kissimmee east of I-4. Our family loves that "good American style home cookin" and have eaten at Cracker Barrel many times and have had very few meals that we were not 100% happy with. Only one location has struck out with us and others that we know and that's the Kissimmee store; we've been there 3 times in 4 years and each it was lousy service and lousy food, and many other people have told us the same thing. The store by Universal was great just like all of the other locations we've been to in 13 states from Connecticut to Wisconsin and New York to Florida.
