I know of a few fun restaurants nearby. The Mendenhall Inn on Route 52 was wonderful a few years back ( before I had kids). I haven't been there in a while, but I imagine it is still good. Buckley's, in Centerville, DE is also really nice. It is also on Route 52. In Wilmington, DiNardo's is GREAT, but small and noisy. I prefer the crabs there to any I've had in Baltimore. The dipping sauce is tremendous. There's supposed to be a wonderful Northern Italian restaurant in Wilmington on Pennsylvania Avenue in the Devon building. THe name escapes me right now. The Dupont Hotel is also famous for fine dining, and I imagine they could accomodate any special requests. There are two rooms, The Green Room (more elegant) and the Brandywine Room (more club-like). Have a wonderful time, and be sure to go to the Brandwine River Museum and Winterthur too. Shari Lazarus [email removed]
