There are several brewpubs in the area. All times are from Main street Newark. When you arrive look up the following for hours and address: Iron Hill Brewery - located on main street Newark - high quality food, high quality beer, and nice atmosphere - I had lunch there today Brandywine Brewing Company (BBC) - located about 20 minutes away in Greenville - good food - beers inconsistent, but can usually find enough good ones to have a good evening Stewart’s Brewpub - about 10 mins away in Bear - basic menu, but always good, good selection of fresh beers, nice staff John Harvard Brew House - about 25 mins away on rt. 202, decent chain restaurant food, but not too exciting, excellent beer If you want to take a trip to Rehoboth beach (about 1 hour) Dogfish Head Brewpub is a must see. Great food and beer. Make sure to congratulate the owner, Sam, on winning young businessman of the year. For steak you have your choice of anything from chain restaurants like Outback and Lone Star to Hartefeld National (in nearby Avondale, PA), Krazy Kats and The Back Burner. Hope that helps. If you want anything additional email me directly - I have visited all of these establishments many times (maybe too many!) Newark is a great college town and packed with watering holes and restaurants. Brian

Skip the Outback and Lone Star...DEFINITELY DO KRAZY KATS (for Dinner). The Back Burner (owned by the same people who run Krazy Kats is very good, too (I recommend having lunch there...call for reservations, though). Be Cool... [email removed]
