The Chef is the former executive chef from Lutece in New York and produces some wonderful food (at a wonderfully high price). Lowest End: Swanky Franks in Norwalk. Lunch only. The Hacienda Burger (on Rye) is good and their pies are wonderful. If you want pie, order it early, they tend to run out. Very cheap. Middle: Not much. There are plenty of places with nice locations; there are plenty of places that charge a lot for food, but there aren't many where the price for the food is in reality. When I lived in Stamford, I would usually go into New York City to eat. It was worth the 50 minute train ride.
