Connecticut is 130 miles by 50 miles and the surrounding areas are the states of NY, MA, RI. Could you narrow the search a bit?

BarBQue Hut in Putnam
Russells Ribs in Groton
Wes' in Providence

There used to be a joint in Stratford called Texas Barbecue that was owned by an Englishman(!), and they served alligator and rattlesnake, as well as ok pork and beef sandwiches. Sometimes the meat was fatty. They served the meat on Portugese rolls that were made locally (they're kinda chewy, with pointy ends and brushed with flour), and gave you a choice of hot, mild, or mello sauce that was tomato based and not too sweet. We'd eat two sandwiches, with fries and a drink for about 9 bucks. That was in 1989. I can't give directions
- It's been too long since I was there but check the yellow pages. It is off the 95, so if you're passing through and you have the time I suppose you could do worse. Whadda ya want, you're in CT fercryinoutloud.
