Frank Pepe is one of the most popular pizza places in New Haven. Or at least it used to be. I've only been there once, but it was really good.

As far as Hartford, unless things have changed alot in the recent past, you don't have too many choices if you limit yourself to walking distance from the train station. There are a few restaurants nearby, but none that I would recommend. IMHO, most of the better restaurants are in or near the South End, which is the Italian section of town. There is an excellent pizza restaurant in West Hartford on Farmington Ave called Harry's. The First & Last Tavern is also pretty good, but it's a long walk from the train station.

Hartford has never really been known for it's restaurants. I grew up just north of there, and while there are a fair number of decent places, it's always been a challenge to find a *really good* restaurant. But maybe it's changed alot since then.

The Wadsworth Atheneum, which I think is on Main, is worth a visit if you like doing the museum thing. Bushnell park is a nice place to have a picnic. Both are within walking distance from the train.

Good luck,
