It's somewhat expensive, but the food is interesting and excellent. Not formal at all. I think it's still BYOB. If you're going on the weekend, make sure you make reservations at least a week in advance. Lunatic Fringe, We all know you're out there.

For the best pizza in connecticut, visit harry's in west hartford, on farmington avenue at the south end of west hartford center.
If you're in New Haven a pizza is a must. Visit either Sally's or Pepe's on Wooster Street...or Modern on State Street. New Haven is famous for it's thin crust brick oven pizza. People are known to take the train up from NYC for a pie. My personal favorite is Modern. If you're into good beer and exceptional wings.....try Archie Moore's on Willow Street.......off exit 6 of I-91. The wings are absolutely fabulous. It's a great casual hangout. For upscale, really nice italian there are several on Wooster Street........New Haven's Little Italy. Enjoy your trip.
