Geez, How come I never save my list when I answer this question?

In no particular order,

Greens. "Healthy" food including several vegetarian entrees. Moderate. On Colfax, just east of the Capitol.

Strings. Huge menu of "California Nouvelle" items. Moderate to Expensive. Atmosphere too trendy for me anymore.

Today's Gourmet. Small restaurant serving new American. Moderate to Expensive. On 6th Ave around Humboldt I think.

There's a new place in Cherry Creek that I believe is called Thoa's 158. I haven't been there, but I liked her previous restaurant Chez Thoa.

Pick up a copy of Westword (free weekly magazine) for their extensive list of restaurant advertisements.

Guess I'll have to take this one off my list. I just read that they're closing as of 4/5 or 4/6.

I also forgot to mention Pagliacci's for good Italian and great minestrone. It's kind of weird to get to, but worth it.

Eric,

I have lived in Denver for six years, and I can recommend some fantastic restaurants!! Here is a list of my favorites . . .

1. Watson's: old-fashioned soda shop at 9th and Lincoln Streets. Large
selection of ice creams, shakes, and sundaes. They even
have soda jerks to wait on you. Fun place to take a

2. Mocha Cafe: Great brunch on Saturdays and Sundays. Located in Cherry

it
has a cozy atmosphere and tables outside!! Excellent
bread
                                                                                                            pudding!!

3. Al Fresco: Excellent Italian restaurant at Market and 15th Streets!
Everything is good, the caesar salad is incredible as is
most
of their pasta dishes. Stay away from the tiramisu!!

4. Rodney's: Another Cherry Creek favorite of mine!! Casual atmosphere
with a great bar in the middle of the seating area!!

5. Las Delicias: Literally Denver's best Mexican restaurants with a couple of
locations. I like the one at 19th and Sherman.
Everything
is fantastic especially the Carne Adobado and the
Margaritas.

I hope you find this little list helpful. If you want more information on Denver restaurants, feel free to email me anytime.

I'm not sure about name of the restaurant, but you might try using a site called DiveIn Denver ( http://www.diveindenver.com ) to look for restaurants in Denver. It has a very cool search feature in the restaurant area of the site that allows you to do very specific searches. For example, you can type in categories ( seafood, Chinese, Mexican etc.) and it will come up with a list that matches your search query. You can also scroll through existing categories or restaurant reviews. There's also a feature that allows you to print up maps once you've found the place you want. Good luck!

There's a really excellent, fairly unknown restaurant on E. 17th Avenue named Aix (www.restaurantaix.com). We go there every time we're in Denver, and love the place. Small and informal, terrific food. And a great high-end gourmet grocery right across the street (Marczyk's).

As to breakfast, I'm addicted to the Delectable Egg, on Court Place, just off the SE end of the 16th St. pedestrian mall. Wish we had a place like that in DC.

Quite a good recommendation.
Mori, a Japanese place, is one block from Coors Field. Their sushi is not surpassed in Denver, and their othe rJapanese food is very good. Lunch specials are well priced. They are between 20th and 21st on Market. Say hi to Go-san, the sushi chef, who also runs the kitchen. Their prices won't kill you for dinner, either. The immediate area isn't exactly a restaurant wasteland, but it's full of "upscale" places, chains and sports bars. Akebono, upstairs at Sakura Square between 19th & 20th and between Lawrence and Larimer, is also quite good, but slightly more expensive. They offer some Korean and Chinese dishes as well as Japanese.
