for grandeur (and excellent, though pricey food) the Palace Arms in the Brown Palace Hotel. we tried it once this winter, and the quality is superb, the ambience impressive, the service unequalled.

If "Auntie" was Tante Marie, try giving them a tasting menu dinner at Barolo Grill. A much more extravagant dinner would be at Flagstaff, in the hills above Boulder.

I'd gladly accept either, as would my adult children (daughter, son-in-law) in Denver.

Tante Louise is probably the restaurant you're thinking of on east Colfax.
As for the Flagstaff house in Boulder, I highly reccommend it. Went there
last night. My daughter graduated from high school and picked that
restaurant for dinner. (Kid has expensive tastes.) Anyhow, for the four of
us, wife, daughter, son and myself, I dropped $265 including tip.
Entrees start at around $25. No childrens menu, but they will accomodate
childen. (My son, age 12, decided he wanted the buffalo steak, $38 entree,
couldn't talk him out of it, but the restaurant served a "childs" portion for
about $17. It is a great restaurant, especially for those special occasions.
