There's a lot of good food on St. Barth, even if Calvin Trillin didn't enjoy himself there. Unfortunately, not much of it can be described as "reasonably priced" in the context of what's "reasonable" in the US. Food is expensive there. That said, the prix fixe menu at Vincet Adam in St. Jean is a good deal and the food is good to boot. Children usually like Topolino (also in St. Jean - having none we've never been there, but have heard reports to that effect). La Rotisserie (Gustavia, St. Jean, and Pt. Milou) has wonderful pastries/cheeses/etc. Le Rivage at the St. Barth Beach Hotel also has good food for not a lot of money. My present favorite on the island is Au Port in Gustavia; not easy to eat cheaply there but the food is very good. Le Patio at the Village St. Jean hotel (up on the hill) is pretty good, too. In the summer months many places close, and most would like you to make reservations so that they can open and/or have enough food aroun... Cheers-
