I don't know what you consider unique or different, but I'm always interested in knowing what's good. We had a fantastic tasting menu at Lumiere. At our request, they paired BC wines by the glass for every course.

Rain City Grille also provided a first rate lunch. Not quite the same level as Lumiere by any means, but excellent for what it was. It also had an excellent selection of wines.

I think both those restaurants have web pages, but I'm not sure of the URLs.

If you'd like some German style hams, sausages and the like, I heartily recommend Black Forest Delicatessen in the Park-Royal Mall (left side) in West Vancouver. Ask for Jurgen Burkhardt. This is not a restaurant, but a food shop and you will probably need a car. It's across the bridge from Vancouver.

I would highly recommend the Texas style BBQ restaurant called "Fatzo's". It's definitely unusual, but the food is great! It's on broadway at Macdonald (or 4th and Macdonald, I always get them mixed up)
