I'm going to be in Amherst Ma, Washington DC, NYC, and Boston. I'm looking for restaurants to eat in. The kind of place I'm looking for is the non-snotty, we serve good food at a reasonable price in this place genre. I enjoy French, Italian, Chinese, and especially Indian foods, and have aalways wanted to try good Tex-Mex mexican as well But there is none in Calgary. I offer reccos to some good Calgary places in exchange: Ercole. Italian. Big portions, delicious food, especially Tortellini Francesco. Also extremely good pizza, which you have to ask for, because it isn't on the menu. Meleen. Indian. Big portions, lots of Tandoori, the Omar Khayyam special and the Gobi Khurma are to die for, the jasmine rice is exquisit and the breads are good as well. Leo Fu. Chinese. *everything* is good. They do a fried chicken wing that I will never tire of. The Orange flavoured beef is also a winner. All of these places are friendly, and Clean Jeans and a Sweater are good enough, or dress up if you prefer. Ercole is the most 'elegant' and you might get a snotty waiter, older guy with a receding hairline. Just stand up to him, he'll back down in a hurry. Thanks in advance, Charles

Reccos wanted for summer
A few of my Boston Favorites: Legal Sea Foods - absolutely, positively the best sea food anywhere any time. Everything on the menu is great, but my favorites are the grilled swordfish & the Shandong dishes. Try the one in Kendall Square Cambridge -- the downtown one tends to be overcrowded. Chau Chau (Chinatown) - great, cheap Chinese dive. Try the chicken w/black bean sauce and the steamed fish w/ginger sauce. Changsho (Cambridge) - Chinese food, a bit upscale, a bit pricey, but good. The Cottonwood Cafe (Berkeley St and Porter Sq, Cambridge) - "southwestern american" cuisine (yuppie Tex-Mex). Spasso (Dartmouth St) - Italian hotspot, young crowd, noisy atmosphere; the bar is a meat market but the food is great. The Border Cafe (Harvard Square) - tex-mex, young crowd, great margaritas, count on waiting to get in. The Blue Room (Kendall Square, Cambridge) - "eclectic"? creative menu, casual atmosphere, high prices, great food. The Cambridge Brewing Company -- right next to The Blue Room. Great beer, and their food isn't bad... Bertucci's - gourmet pizza; a zillion branches; moderately priced, very reliable. Mexican Food at The Forest Cafe (Mass Ave, Cambridge) - the place is a dive, but their food is awesome - "authentic" Mexican (e.g. Tuna w/Mole Verde; no tacos or burritos served in this joint) Pampas (Mass Ave, Cambridge) - Brazilian barbeque. Quite an experience. All the meat you can eat for $15. Ristorante Lucia (Hanover St in the North End) - Italian. Crowded and a bit expensive but fantastic Italian food. I could go on, but I'd better get back to work! If you're looking for something specific, e-mail me & I'll let you know. I'd recommend picking up Zagat's Restuarant Survey for Boston -- probably the most comprehensive and reliable restuarant guide around. - Kiran
Reccomendation for Boston: Try Cafe Lampara, a Italian restaurant on Commonwealth ave. (around 890, i guess). Great bread, if you like aroma of rosemary. Also, further down the Comm.ave (toward B.C), look for BlueStone Bistoro, another Italian place. Famous for creative pizza, but my personal favorite is scallope wrapped with bacon, glazed with maple syrup.(appetizer dish) Buon Appetito:)
