Try:

The Lobster Trap on Yonge Street or Eddie's on Yonge St. (steaks) in Richmond Hill. These aren't necessarily that moderately priced, compared to what you're probably used to in Buffalo. But they're good nevertheless.

Good luck,

The Senator on the Square in the North York Civic Centre (at Yonge and Park Home) is nice. Young Lok Gardens a little south of there on Yonge Street is supposed to be good, but I haven't eaten there. Ditto for Dr. Kim's, a Korean restaurant. There is a [usually] very good Indian restaurant called Cuisine of India at 5222 Yonge Street, just north of Park Home. There is a French-Italian restaurant on the east side of Yonge Street a few blocks south of Park Home called Chez Laurent which is quite nice.

A little farther south, Trapper's on Yonge Street just south of highway 401 is good, although it may be at the top end of your moderately priced range.

To the east, The Armenian Kitchen on Victoria Park north of Eglinton is quite nice (and inexpensive). To the west, (I think this is still North York) is Camarra's Pizza, the best in the city, on Dufferin south of Lawrence.
