Here are a few that I have sampled at least once, and would (or have) gone back to on many occasions:

TAGORE: 4653 St. Laurent Blvd.
RESTAURANT ASHA: 3490 Park Avenue
RESTAURANT ROYAL CARI: 5213 St. Laurent Blvd.
INDIA PALACE: 5125 St. Laurent Blvd.
STAR OF INDIA: 1806 St. Catherine St. W (MY PERSONAL FAVORITE)

enjoy !!!

There used to be a New Woodlands on Rue Guy (off Ste Catharines). Was not too expensive (as of 6 years ago and so I don't know if they still exist!!). Food was good; had a good balance of both North and South Indian food.

Good luck

It was still there in August 1991 (I told the original poster that I thought the name might be Madras Woodlands, but that's in New York; and Madras, I suppose).
