Just trying to provoke a discussion here, but... In Quebec City, Table de Serge Bruyere, 1200 Rue St-Jean. Ambiance, service, freshness and preparation of food, innovativeness of daily menu -- all combine to make it the place you're happy to have parted with a healthy chunk of cash for. I'd go there again in a heartbeat but my frequent flyer miles are about frizzled out... If I had to pick a place to dine just before my execution, it would probably be the Planet Hollywood branch that's on the planet Mars! :) Short of that, my all time favorite restaurant is a huge family style place called Menz (that's the name of the family who own it). Its in Rio Grande, New Jersey, not far from Cape May and Wildwood. It has down home good food with different dishes for all types of tastes (fish, chicken, beef, vegie). Excellent service, superb atmosphere, great prices, and ample portions. Everything there is fresh although their menu rarely varies.
