The entire restaurant is vegetarian, nothing meat at all, but the menu is set up like one from a chinese restaurant, with sections for fish, poultry and whatnot. Being a vegetarian, I'm not much into actual meat taste, though I do have that occasional craving for lemon chicken. This place, as well as The Supreme Master Ching Hai Meditation Association & Vegetarian Restaurant, both fill that quota. At White Lotus, I recommend the fried rice and the curry soup. At SUMA Ching Hai,(in San Jose on 12th & Santa Clara) I recommend the "lemon gluten nuggets" for the closest representation to lemon chicken I've had since I went veggie a few years back. SUMA Ching Hai has the added bonus of being not only good, cheap food, but a real live cult! Wow! Impress your friends! White Lotus is trendy and expensive, but still go. Heed the warning though: cults are nicer than yuppies. Both places also have awesome vegan food, too.

And the eggplant clay pot is worth walking a long way for. >recommend the "lemon gluten nuggets" for the closest representation to >lemon chicken I've had since I went veggie a few years back. > >SUMA Ching Hai has the added bonus of being not only good, cheap food, but a >real live cult! It's slightly upscale, true, it's a pretty casual place, and not terribly trendy. And not really *that* expensive.
