I have not seen anything in the local papers about this restaurant...who knows what gets Michael Bauer's attention or tickles his fancy. I've eaten here three times and have to say that, along with Fringale, this is one of the best restaurants in the Bay Area! It is fresh American fine cuisine, with great regional appetizers. The restaurant, at Octavia and Bush, looks like it used to be a very old pharmacy but has been redone to bring out a home cooked feeling. The biscuits are to die for. This is a true find.

I agree! It's a great place. It received a mediocre review recently, I think from Maria Ciana in the Chronicle. She complained about the service which I think is fine. It also was reviewed in Spring 1996, when it first opened....I don't recall details (maybe by Unterman...). Michael Bauer has never reviewed it.
