It's not going to be fun trying to get into restaurants from now till
the 26th. The Gaslmap district is already crawling with Touristas.
It'll only get worse from Sunday. My guess is that getting into
restaurants in La Jolla will be a problem as well. If you want to
get into any of the upper-tier restaurants in La Jolla or Gaslamp, you
 should probably make reservations ASAP.

Some areas that shouldn't be excessively busy during the SB hoopla are
probably Kearny Mesa: Emerald Seafood (Dim Sum + Hong Kong Seafood),
Jasmine (Dim Sum, not recommended for dinners), Thai House, Noodle
House of Otemayan (casual Japanese noodle house), Korea House (Korean
BBQ), Alladin's Cafe (Greek meets California Cuisine); North
Park/Normal Heights: Park House Eatery (Southwestern), Seoul House
(Korean), Adam's Avenue Grill, Antique Row Cafe (Great Breakfasts),
Casa Sanchez (Mexican), DeMille's (Pasta w/red sauce + pizzas),
Kensingon Grill (Southwestern/California Cuisine), The Manatee
 (Moderate Continental).

If you're willing to fight the throngs, then in the Gaslamp, there's:
Trattoria La Scala, Osteria Pannevino, Trattoria Mama Anna, Bella
Luna, Fio's and probably another twenty or thirty Trattoria-style
Italian restaurants that have opened in the last month. There's also
Blue Point Coastal (Seafood). Other places downtown or in Old Town
worth checking out are: Laurel's (California Cuisine), Bonzai
Cantina (Pacific Rim), Cafe Pacifica (California Seafood).
In La Jolla, I'd suggest: George's at the Cove (and either of the
related Cafe's), Cindy Black's (Homey Continental), Trattoria Acqua
and Piatti's. I'd definitely suggest making reservations at any of
 the above places, again ASAP.

Oh, and if you're looking for a good steak, fogetaboutit... Hey, you
wouldn't mind bringing some from Colorado (or Wisconsin!) would you?
