You all should know that Rosa's is also in Watsonville, near the corner of Freedom and Green Valley. Same menu, less ambience (unless one likes the K-Mart parking lot). This instance of Rosa's has been there for many years. (I am assuming the two are the same: same name, same open fire chicken roasting, same garnish/salsa bar, same basic choices.) --Tim May

Santa Cruz has a large selection of killer good fish dishes. fish tacos. grilled fresh catch of the day with a variety of carribean side dishes. About the only seafood I recall in Watsonville is the shrimp burritos. Santa Cruz also has more dinner specials such as the BBQ pork Cuban platters, or that Trinidad thing with the pork, fried plantain, etc. Santa Cruz has an oyster bar out front they operate when the weather is nice too. The BBQ chicken is often better in Watsonville, I've had dried out chicken in Santa Cruz a few times. Ditto the Papas Nortenos, they are often spicier and tastier in Watsonville. The salsas in Watsonville tend to be coarser chopped and more homemade style. But the Santa Cruz edition often has more 'interesting' and unusual salsas, such as that sweet/hot dark brown thing they put up on the counter near the grill... Santa Cruz offers some killer margaritas too. Tim, if you haven't had the fish tacos at the Santa Cruz Rosa's, I highly recommend them. I'd suggest getting a 3-some, one shrimp, one scallop, and one salmon as a trial. -jrp ---------------------------------------------------------------------- This posting has a invalid email address to discourage bulk emailers Due to the ever increasing volumes of spam, I do not mix mail and news ----------------------------------------------------------------------
