This may be a repeat, I thought about posting this, but I'm not sure if I did or not. I have been a champion of a little place in the Redwood City Barrio for a while now, and I visited it recently and found that it has been sold, and most of what I liked about it isn't there anymore. But there is some good news, Rincon Tarasco still has the same recipes in the kitchen, and the same widely varied menu (with Tacos, Burritos, Enchiladas, Tostada, and Tamales comprising about one FOURTH of the total offerings!). But the heart seems to have left the place under the new ownership. If you ask for Salsa Fresca, they shake their head and say they don't have that anymore. The chips are from a bag, the refrieds from a can, and the red rice was as boring as I have had anywhere. The tortillas are still great, either fresh made there, or fresh made and delivered daily. The Chile Relleno still comes with a great sour cream sauce, the other, not so standard, dishes are still there, deep fried beef, sopitas, etc., and the cooks might even have stayed on, but the atmosphere has changed. And the bar at the other end of the building appears to be closed for good. So if you haven't been there, go soon, and order Ala Carte, the sides really detracted from the main dishes.
