Guy,
It's been over ten years so I don't know if they're still there but it was Pearl's Pizza in 29 Palms. (Sorry, not that close to Palmdale, I'm afraid.) The crust was thicker, like what I was used to in Pgh., not all thin like most of the pizza places in the L.A. area that I had tried. They advertized it as being either NY-style or East Coast-style or something like that, but from what I understand NY-style pizza is nothing like Pgh. pizza. Anyway, whatever you called it, it was very good. This was the first place I ever had pineapple on pizza and I've never looked back. Still like my pizza with bacon or sausage, green pepper, and pineapple.

Also there used to be a very interesting, if not actually great, pizza place in Trona. Don't remember the name but it's probably the only pizza place there. They had about 50 different totally bizarre toppings available. It was a real hoot. Wonder if they're still around. We used to go there when we went to the annual Rock and Gem show in Trona.
