They have an excellent beer selection and pretty good food. Another place on Emerson which advertises an outdoor patio is Fanny and Alexander's (but I haven't tried that restaurant).

They have got a few different BBQ items on the menu. Welcome to the area. There's the newly open Jacks in the Fremont Hub. It's not the best brewpub in the world -- some of the beers are bad, and the outdoor seating is next to the parking lot. The hefeweisen I had there was pretty good, but the IPA and pale ale had never come near a hop and were sweet -- yuck. It's not a bad place on a quiet weeknight if you stick to the hefeweisen. Haven't tried the other beers besides those three. There are many excellent places to drink beer outside in the larger Bay Area. My favorite three would be the Mendocino Brewing Company in Hopland, the Marin Brewing Company in Larkspur and the wonderful Station House in Point Reyes. Unfortunately, they're all in the North Bay. Locally my favorite place to eat outside is Chevy's in Newark, near the NewPark Mall. Medium locally the best place to imbibe outside would be the picnic tables at the pretty wineries (Retzlaff, Concannon) in Livermore. And you can always hike up Mission Peak carrying some beer.
