There is a new (or possibly, newly relocated) taqueria in Hayward that is worth checking out. It is called something like "Tapito" and is on A street, very near BART, just west of the BART tracks.

I had the tacos al pastor and they are excellent. (Note: they are, according to the proprietor, deliberately prepared in a somewhat lower-fat fashion than traditional, but he claimed to have put a lot of effort in to finding a formula that made them tasty nonetheless, and I believe he succeeded.) I haven't yet had the occassion to check out the rest of the menu, but other items such as the sopes looked really good.

The place is also a full-scale carniceria and grocery. Worth a look.
