Haven't seen anyone mention the new Japanese place next door to Jade Tree in Cupertino, so here's my $0.02. I've eaten there once for dinner and once for lunch, and I have to say that this is probably going to be my new favorite Japanese Restaurant. The food is great and the portions are quite large. Highly recommended. The only down side is that the service has been pretty bad both times, though I think this is just inexperience on the part of the wait staff. G.

Kitsho Sushi & japanese Restaurant
19541 Richwood Drive, Cupertino, CA 95014

Near the corner of Wolf&Steven's Creek. Right next to Jade Tree (my favorite Chinese food in the area). The building used to be Oliver's (didn't survive very long) and before that was a sports bar of some kind.
Some lunch prices:
All lunches include soup, salad, and rice.
Daily special Lunch Bento $6.50,
Combination Lunch Bento (Tuna roll or California Roll + choice of Tempura,
Chicken Teriyaki, or Pork Katsu $7.95,
Sushi & Sashimi Lunch Bento $10.50 (a coworker ordered this and it was
more than he wanted to eat).
Combination Lunch $8.50 (any two of Tempura, Boiled Fish, Sashimi, Teriyaki
(Beef, Chicken), Beef, Pork or Chicken Katsu.
Kisho Lunch Bento (chef's special choices) $9.50.
Chicken Teriyaki ~$7.25 (looked like about 2.5 times the usual quantity
of chicken one commonly gets).
also Spicy Chicken Teriyaki.
Dinner prices:
Entree $9.50-$13, includes soup, salad, rice. Again, portions are larger
than you might expect.
Combination diner $16, (two items fromthe usual sort of selection), includes
ice cream.
Sushi combos $11.50, $14, $20,
Also Sashimi, Chirashi, Futomaki, and Makimono combinations.
Child's dinner $7.75, rice, fruit, and any two of Beef/Chicken Teriyaki,
Tempura, Sushi.
This is all off the takeout menu. The actual menus have evolved a bit beyond this though if I recall correctly.

So far I've personally only had the extremely authentic[1] Spicy Chicken Teriyaki (three times now, what can I say?). Everything else that people I've been with have ordered looked very good. After I OD on Spicy Chicken and try something different maybe I'll report back. After typing in part of the menu last night I got hungry so three of us went there for dinner. The service was excellent (possibly because we were one of only two tables in the place with customers, and the only one our waitress had to deal with). They bring you real hot towels when you sit down (as opposed to microwaved cheese cloth). The first night we were there we ran into a dozen friends who were holding a birthday dinner there. I thought this was a bit surprising since the restaurant is so new, but they explained that the place is owned by their favorite Sushi chef, whom they would visit (wherever he worked before) and simply sit down at the sushi bar and say "feed us". The sushi bar (seats about 8-10) has been crowded every time I've been there, even when the tables are relatively (or completely) empty. G. [1] Only kidding Mitch!
