California

Half Moon Bay

In the general area, my favorite in that area is the Pescadero instituion, Duarte's. Not chic, but great food. All the usual seafood salads--generously sized--but my favourite is cream of pepper soup. That's worth the drive. AND berry pies.

The bar looks like fun, probably a great place to spend a rainy Sunday brunch. [email removed]

With all due respect, not hardly. I think it's around 18 miles on
wide, smooth and scenic Hwy 1. Or I should say, off Hwy 1. Pesc. is a mile or two inland.

Second the motion on Duarte's; the green chile cream soup is quite
good. Seafood items are also very tasty.

But another place that hasn't been mentioned, that I think is
pretty good for lunch, is the Mexican place right on the SE corner of Hwys 92 and 1 in Half Moon Bay: El Perico? Large portions of tasty food in the TexMex, California Mexican restaurant style. I had a machaca dish there that impressed me very favorably.

I go here pretty regularily, also but didn't include it in my original post because I didn't know if they did luunches. They have pretty good Pad Thai, and I particularily like their Tom Kai Ghai soup, the coconut milk, chicken and galangal one which is the best of it's type I've ever had. The yellow curry is good, as well.

Also want to mention that we just had lunch at the newly-reopened PRINCETON INN which is now mostly german food and seafood crepes-type things. they claim the breakfasts on the weekends are great-
