My SO and I were looking for a place to break our fast last night and I came across an old post by [email removed] (JSchacht) recommending the Great Wall Chinese Vegi Restaurant in Oakland. Thanks! it was good; we'll definately go back. The food ranked as good, not fantastic, not mediocre. But as someone who eats seafood but not meat, it is always great to open a menu and be able to order *anything* from it. Well, I have things I don't like, and I don't eat hot stuff, but the selection was amazing. Prices were good too. Since we hadn't eaten in 25 hours, we didn't have the patience to actually read the menu so we quickly ordered pot stickers ($3.60/6) which were okay, but not cooked as much as I like them, and then choose the Seafood Dinner for two on the back. For $8.95 each we got decent (but bland) seafood soup, amazing fried things filled with mayonaise-like sauce called crab meat rangoons (though I didn't see any crab), mu-shu shrimp that was very good, sweet and sour fish that was average, and *brown rice* (they have white too). Next time I'll read the menu and order something vegi and unusual. The resturant is wheelchair accessable with room between the tables to move. For chemically sensitive people, there were no perfumes or other smells I could tell; there is carpeting but it's not new. I didn't check out the bathrooms so can't comment about those. The place is 100% non-smoking with no outdoor seating I could see.
