Jing Jing in palo alto (emerson/univ) has an abbreviated menu from 10p-12a. (they serve sichuan food). Fu La Mum in mountain view (castro) opens late 9.30p and is open till 1a. (they specialize in seafood). (please check the timings with the restaurants in case they have changed it recently). korean restaurants are usually good bets for late night dining, but i don't know of one in pa/mv. (a korean friend told me that when he and his friends got together they would play cards until 11p and go out to dinner after 11p).

If you like Italian, Frankie, Johnny, & Luigi's Too is open until midnight on weeknights and 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. They are on El Camino in Mountain View between Castro and Shoreline/Miramonte. I think their food is pretty good. My wife likes them a whole lot more than she does Florentine's. No dancing, no cover, just food. If you're looking for diner food, the Peninsula Creamery in Palo Alto is open until midnight on weekends. They make a pretty good malted. Luis
I like Dynasty on Castro in MtView open till 1am fri&sat Kerin also on Castro open late not sure of hours. I also like Franky&Johnny&Luigi's Too for the Tina's Too Too Much pizza. At the very end of the night they turn off the grill and all you can get is the pizza... Harry's Hofbrau on El Camino south of castro is open pretty late also.
Jose's Caribbean Restaurant on El Camino between Cambridge and College (in Palo Alto) is supposedly open until midnight on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I assume that includes food service. I haven't eaten there (except take-out) since they expanded to put in a bar and dance floor. I know they have a cover charge at least on some days.
