Los Gatos Diner, on Hwy 9, near the junction with the main dwontown drag in LG. Bring a hefty appetite!

The Original Pancake House on Saratoga-Sunnyvale near 85 is still my favorite. (Not sure if it's San Jose or Cupertino at that point.) Great omelets, German pancakes (the puffy, baked ones served with butter, lemon and powdered sugar), many kinds of pancakes, and good side dishes like sugar-cured ham. Good Columbian coffee. Not much atmosphere but the staff is friendly enough.

Bobbi's, across the street, has been recommended by friends but I've never been there.

Thank you for the recommendations. The Los Gatos Cafe near main drag in LG was great--wonderful apricot bread french toast. Can't wait to try the Pancake House next weekend.

As for Gary Brainin, sorry if that hit a nerve. I tried doing searches for restaurants using the SJ Merc and other websites, and could not find many listings for breakfast. Asking on the newsgroup seemed like a harmless way to ask for advice, as I don't live in the South Bay.

Cheers,

Andrea
