Don't know about Temecula, but I was born, raised, and lived in Riverside until I was in my 20's, so.... Gay & Larry's for Mexican food -- it's in Rubidoux (part of Riverside). Very much a dive, but the locals are loyal. I second the Gerard's vote. Very nice. Haven't been there in a while, though. Pietro's for Italian. Down home, good portions, at least the last time I went there it was. Victoria's Orange for lunch, if you can stand the wait. Heck, if it's still there! I don't know if it is! The best grinders are at Delia's. Yes, it's a low rent place, but trust me on this: get the capocolla w/ extra meat and cheese. Deadly. The Salad Monger used to be pretty good...but again, not sure if it's still there. Please keep in mind, too, that I left Riverside not long after college...so it bears saying that I was on a student's budget! I don't have too many suggestions in the 'expensive' restaurant category.
