Fondue in Sacramento? Give it up, girlfriend. I have never seen it here, other than hotpot meals in some Chinese restaurants, and the name of a place with hotpot escapes me. Dim sum? Yep. Try the Islander out at the funky old mall near the old airport on Freeport Boulevard across the street from the mall that died after the stunt plane flew into the Farrell's in '71 or '72. Good dim sum. I'm crazy about their spare ribs - really done well. They have a long list of stuff they do and it's usually crowded. We always go there on Sunday and I honestly don't know if they do dim sum on any other day. Other times, it's a Chinese restaurant. You might try posting to sac.general. One of my friends knows more places and she'll see your plea on that group. Although I know she reads this group too. If you do go to the bay area, I like the Jade Villa ( I think that's the name) in Oakland on Broadway in Chinatown.

It's only 8 miles from downtown Sac. Fabulous fondue with typically french food and service (so don't be in a hurry). ------------------------------------------------------------------------ - Dave Bates PhD Tel: 916 752-7081 Postdoctoral Researcher Fax: 916 758-2554 Dept of Human Physiology email: [email removed] University of California at Davis drink: anything Davis, California 95616, USA No I don't have a sense of humour now buy me a beer ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ---- From X Thu Dec 1 08:36:40 EST 1994 Article: 11928 of rec.food.restaurants
