I don't know about San Francisco, but if you are in the South Bay, my reccomendations would be:
1) Pasand for good Indian food- they're at the "corner" of Lawrence Expwy and
   El Camino Real in Sunnyvale.
2) Siam Restaurant, at the "corner" or Lawrence and Stevens Creek in Santa
Clara, has been ranked in past year as one of the best Thai restauarants in
   CA.
3) It's not necessarily Ethiopian, but Ola's, at the corner of Homestead and Wolfe in Cupertino, is an excellent African/Carribbean/Cajun restaurant with three fantastic owner/chefs. The menu really does represent a variety of different African dishes, Cajun dishes, and Carribbean dishes. :-Dan
