a California Cuisine style restaurant-lovely views, slightly limited menu for someone from an urban nackground, but all the selections were among the best we've tried (not quite as pretty or as subtle, but quite nicely in the tasty catagory of a California Cafe-chef does good with less to work with). Pricey but you're paying for the ambience

Chart House
lovely views. ok drinks. Good red meat place with scary size portions (the roast beef was 25+oz, I swear) even has view at night as they light up the beach and ocean with their own lighting

Blue Pacific BBQ. pricey but great for impressing dates. best pizza on the coast. Hand made, herb crust. Try the gorgonzola and sun dried tomato pizza or the Conan (all meat). Also makes all his own sausages (cajun style). reasonable prices

Foglighter
charming pasta restaurant. intimate (has only 6 tables indoors, also has more on patio. staff is eclectic and wonderful. pastas are fresh, nicely sauced, huge portions, and there are decadent desserts. only slightly pricey, but worth it for the size of portions

For a perfectly delightful breakfast, I recommend Eggheads in Fort Bragg. Not fancy, but charming and always packed with locals.

I've never had breakfast there, so maybe that's OK, but Godzilla is the only place I've ever had a burrito so boring that I couldn't finish it.
